Surviving prostate cancer

Now firmly established with over 100 patients and a 12-member executive committee chaired by the passionate and committed, retired oil and gas guru, Engineer Godwin Ibe, Marcelle Ruth Friends, recently hosted an educational programme on surviving prostate cancer.

Over forty people came to listen to some excellent presentations from Dr. Seun Akinola, Consultant Urologist and Dr. Damola Omogbehin, Consultant Radiation Oncologist – It was an emotional and inspiring event, filled with hope and camaraderie. The importance of regular screening was also highlighted with free PSA screenings being made available on the day.

Huge thanks to Johnson & Johnson and Medcourt whose financial support made the event possible.

Thank you, Engineer Godwin Ibe, Chairman, Marcelle Ruth Friends, Mrs. Rachel Ajari, Director of Social, Marcelle Ruth Friends, and all the committee members and attendees, some of whom travelled from outside Lagos to be at the event. We are delighted to have created this space for our patients and their families.

If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, please know that you are not alone. We are here to support you every step of the way.

The next Marcelle Ruth Friends event will be a breast care day – you can read more about it here.
