As well as cancer, Marcelle Ruth’s team treats a range of conditions that need specialist care. Backed by years of research, training and experience, we use our advanced skills in these fields to run dedicated clinics, carry out expert surgical procedures and always provide the right support and understanding.
Our Concierge Health service provides a thorough health assessment tailored to your age and needs. Offering everything from screening through to diagnosis, treatment and lifestyle planning.
> Concierge Health at Marcelle Ruth
You will be guided through every aspect of the assessment, which will include screening, nurse and medical consultations, laboratory tests, imaging including X-rays, ultrasound scans, CT scans, mammography (for women) and colonoscopy (if needed).
We will then organise a follow-up appointment with a doctor to review your results. If we detect any medical conditions, our clinical and surgical team will develop a treatment plan, working alongside other specialists like nutritionists, physiotherapists and counsellors.

Haematology covers a wide range of blood and bone marrow disorders. These include some types of cancer, such as leukaemia and lymphoma, but also many benign conditions like anaemia, haemophilia and thrombosis.
> Haematology clinics at Marcelle Ruth
The abnormal blood counts that cause haematological conditions produce a range of symptoms of varying severity, from feeling tired to getting more infections than normal. But conditions can respond well to expert treatment.
With state-of-the-art testing, scanning and analysis, our haematology clinics will soon get to the root of the problem. Whatever care you require in the short or long term, we’ll design a plan that meets your individual needs.
Laparoscopic or “keyhole” procedures diagnose and treat conditions in the abdomen, pelvis and intestines, including digestive and gynaecological problems, and colorectal cancers. With only small incisions, they are less invasive or likely to cause pain and major scarring than traditional surgery.
> Laparoscopic procedures at Marcelle Ruth
In our purpose-built operating theatres, highly experienced surgeons carry out keyhole procedures to help with diagnosis, screen for abnormalities, take biopsies and remove disease. You’ll be given a general anaesthetic but in some cases may be able to return home on the same day as a laparoscopy.
Oncology is the medical term for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, a common but serious disease that happens when abnormal cells start dividing and multiplying in the body. Sickle cell disease is a genetic disorder that affects how red blood cells develop, potentially causing episodes of pain, anaemia and an increased risk of serious infections. Those with the condition inherit it at birth, but it can only be passed on when both parents carry the sickle cell gene.

At our regular clinics, we will keep a close eye on your health, offer the latest appropriate treatments and help you stay well with both medication and diet and lifestyle advice. We also provide diagnostic and screening services.
The human body is complex – and numerous conditions, both chronic and acute, can affect more than one of its internal organs. When there are multiple symptoms, internal medicine plays a critical, specialist role in identifying and treating the underlying causes.
> Internal medicine clinics at Marcelle Ruth
With expertise in the many common but complex disorders that result in ill health, our internal medicine clinics are a center of excellence for diagnosing, treating and preventing a wide range of symptoms and conditions. These include hypertension (high blood pressure), lipid disorders (high blood cholesterol and triglycerides), heart and arterial disease, diabetes, asthma, bronchitis and fatigue.
Most of the internal medicine team are also specialists in one or more of these areas. Together, they provide long-term, holistic outpatient care with both medication and advice on diet and lifestyle.
Imaging techniques like x-rays and ultrasound scans can now be used to not only diagnose but also treat medical problems inside the body. Guided by the images they’ve captured, interventional radiologists carry out procedures with great precision and less risk, pain and recovery time than open surgery.
> Interventional radiology procedures at Marcelle Ruth
As the least invasive technique available to treat most internal organs, interventional radiology is performed wherever possible at Marcelle Ruth to improve outcomes for patients and reduce their stay in hospital.
Our interventional radiologists are specially trained doctors who use the technique in many non-urgent procedures, from taking biopsies and removing tumours to unblocking arteries.
